North Korea targets transit

Ontario transit agency Metrolinx says it has been targeted by a cyberattack that originated in North Korea.

Spokeswoman Anne Marie Aikins says no personal information was compromised and systems that operate its trains and buses were not affected.

She says, due to security concerns, she could not comment on when the cyberattack happened or what specifically was targeted.

But Aikins says it happened recently.

She says the "incident is over," but officials are still investigating.

North Korea has been implicated in numerous recent hacks worldwide.

American officials have said North Korea was behind the WannaCry ransomware attack, which infected hundreds of thousands of computers worldwide and crippled parts of Britain's National Health Service in May.
