Crashes continue

UPDATE 4:40 p.m.

Another crash has occurred on the slippery Kelowna roads. 

This time, a single vehicle has crashed on Glenmore Road North, near the landfill. 


UPDATE 4:25 p.m.

Crashes continue across the Central Okanagan as snow falls steadily. 

A rear-ender has slowed traffic at the roundabout at Louie Drive and Butt Road in West Kelowna, while multiple semi trucks are having difficulties making it up the hill in the westbound lanes of Highway 97, near the Glenrosa Road turnoff. 

Meanwhile in Kelowna, eastbound traffic is slowed on Springfield Road at Benvoulin Road due to a collision. 


UPDATE 3:55 p.m.

As we head into the rush hour, snowfall continues to blanket the valley and the collisions continue.

The latest is in the 2600 block of Shannon Lake Rd. near Tallus Ridge Road.

Emergency crews are on scene directing traffic. No injuries have been reported and one lane was open as of 2:40 p.m.


ORIGINAL 12:54 p.m.

Weather is starting to have an impact on valley roads.

A City of Kelowna transit bus slammed into the side of a white pickup truck at Spall Road and Harvey Avenue shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

No word on injuries, however, a portion of the intersection is blocked.

A Castanet reader says the southbound HOV lane is blocked, while north and southbound traffic on Spall is completely shut down.

At least two crashes have been reported in West Kelowna.

A two vehicle collision has been reported at Boucherie and Green Bay roads, while another two vehicle crash has affected northbound traffic on Highway 97 near Hudson Road.
