Slayer to play SOEC

Legendary metal band Slayer is stopping at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton this May as a part of their last-ever tour.

After 37 years and 12 studio albums, the band has confirmed they are calling it a quits and are planning “one last concert tour around the globe to thank their fans for all the support over the years.”

Slayer has played nearly 3,000 concerts, won two Grammys and has its own exhibit in the Smithsonian Institute.

“The age of Slayer, one of the greatest thrash/metal/punk bands of this or any age, is coming to an end,” reads the concert announcement.

The Penticton date will be supported by Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament.

Tickets go on sale to the public this Friday at 10 a.m. for $72 and $82.
