Cops swarm, find boy

UPDATE: 4 p.m.

A potentially scary situation was avoided after swift action from RCMP in Kelowna on Monday.

Several officers were engaged to search for a missing boy after RCMP received a call at 2 p.m.

“It included a full search of his house and one of our officers also attended to the school that the boy was known to attend to and was able to connect with a friend of the family,” he said.

The heavy police presence, which included the RCMP helicopter, was warranted according to O’Donaghey.

“We wanted to see all of our available units head to that area to begin the search,” he said.

Out of privacy to the family, no further information will be provided.
