Wray memorial on Saturday

A celebration of life will be held Saturday for Duncan Wray at Kal Tire Place from 3-5 p.m.

The beloved owner of the Vernon Vipers passed away suddenly at his Victoria home on Jan. 11, his 68th birthday.

Wray is survived by his wife Libby, brother Fred (Linda); sisters Eleanor and Joanie (Jim). He had five children: Jonathan (Anna), Andrew (Eliza), Nicholas (Julie), Erica (Jason) and Alexander (Ashley) as well as his grandson and namesake, James.

Wray became owner of the Vernon Vipers 25 years ago and is credited by many with helping to shape the BC Hockey League into what it is today.

Since his passing, tributes have poured in for Wray from former players, staff and members of opposing teams.
