Singer death not suspicious

The death of Cranberries lead singer Dolores O'Riordan is not being treated as suspicious, British police said Tuesday. A friend said the singer sounded excited and "full of life" just hours before her death.

O'Riordan was found dead Monday morning at a London hotel. Police initially said the death was "unexplained," but on Tuesday ruled it non-suspicious, meaning that they found no evidence of foul play. The case will be passed to a coroner to determine the cause of death.

O'Riordan had suffered physical and mental health problems over the years. The Cranberries cut short a world tour in 2017 because of the singer's back problems.

The 46-year-old Irish singer was in London to record vocals for a cover of The Cranberries' hit "Zombie" by the Los Angeles rock band Bad Wolves.

Dan Waite of music label Eleven Seven, a friend of the singer, said O'Riordan left him a voice message early Monday saying she was looking forward to the recording. He said "she sounded full of life, was joking and excited to see me and my wife this week."

"The news of her passing is devastating and my thoughts are with Don, her ex-husband, her children, and her mother," Waite said.

The Cranberries formed in the Irish city of Limerick at the end of the 1980s and had international hits in the '90s with songs including "Dream," ''Linger" and "Zombie."

It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  For Beatles super-fans Jody Tennant (Paul), Kevin Davey (John), Charles Boname (George) and Paul Kaszonyi (Ringo) the proverb holds true.  THE Fab fourever is a musical production performing all of the memorable hits live, without any vocal overdubs or pre-recorded music.  This is a visually stunning tour de force delivered with all the raw energy, witty humor, and undeniable charisma that were the hallmarks of the Fab Four.  With vintage period-specific instruments, and several full costume changes, THE Fab fourever skip no detail with this production. Their enjoyment of the music translates into a passion and an energy onstage that makes for a tremendous show.

The Big O was unmistakable with his trademark sunglasses, his distinctive, powerful voice, his complex compositions and the dark emotional ballads we all love. From 1960 to ’64 Roy Orbison landed 22 songs on the Billboard Top 40, including “Only The Lonely”, “Crying”, and “Oh, Pretty Woman”.  His impassioned voice, bridging the gap between baritone and tenor, coupled with his signature arrangements ensured the charting of the hits “Dream Baby”, “Ooby Dooby”, “Blue Angel”, “Blue Bayou”, “You Got It” and “In Dreams”.  As a part of THE TRAVELING WILBURYS Orbison brought us “End of the Line”, “Handle With Care” and “Last Night”.  A prolific writer, Orbison pitched “Claudette” to The Everly Brothers.  The track was a co-number one with the Everlys’ “All I Have to Do is Dream”.  Orbison and The Everly Brothers tore the house down on TV’s Shindig performing Roy’s “What I’d Say”.  Tragically, his life was cut short, leaving us only the music.

And, long may the music live!  THE LONELY delivers a sensitive and dynamic tribute to the one and only Roy Orbison.  Veteran Mike Demers leads this group of musical journeymen in their mutual and deep appreciation of the timeless music of the Caruso of Rock.  THE LONELY - Celebrating The Music of ROY ORBISON approaches the music with a humble spirit and sincere desire to recreate the sounds and feel of the original recordings.  The band has been selling out shows right from their debut.  Tina Coldwell of TLC Entertainment says, “One of the best tributes I’ve seen and I’ve been in the biz for 22 years.”   Be there or be square!

Gomez's mother 'not happy'

Selena Gomez's mother is "not happy" at her daughter's reunion with on-and-off boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Mandy Teefey addressed the rumors of a supposed feud between her and the 25-year-old singer, after she and husband Brian Teefey stopped managing Selena's career in 2014.

"Every mother and daughter has disagreements," Mandy told Gossip Cop. "We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business. It was no longer fun for any of us, like it was when she was younger and we had to be with her because she was a minor."

However, there is one issue that seems to be causing concern with Mandy, and that's Selena's rekindled romance with troublemaker boyfriend Justin, 23.

She admits she is "not happy" with the reunion, but added: "Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy."

Asked if she was concerned about the relationship's effect on her daughter's health, Mandy replied: "She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed.

"Selena is an adult and can make her own choices," she insisted.

Mandy also praised her daughter after she underwent a secret kidney transplant last year, following her battle with lupus.

Describing Selena as "brave and fearless," she added: "I was so proud of her bravery."

The singer's close friend Francia Raisa offered to donate her organ, and Mandy said the family was "beyond blessed that we had Francia in our life,", and recalled she was a "wreck" during the time of the operation.

She joked: "I am pretty sure I am banned from that hospital (now)."

Paris Jackson 'robbed'

Paris Jackson was robbed by a pair of hitchhikers after her efforts to be a Good Samaritan went wrong.

The 19-year-old model revealed in a series of expletive-filled videos posted to her Instagram Stories on Friday that she picked up the pair the day before in Los Angeles.

Paris said she even offered one girl her own socks to wear, and took them to a fast food restaurant where she bought them dinner.

However, the only daughter of late pop icon Michael Jackson told her 2.5 million followers that the hitchhikers allegedly made off with Paris' debit card.

"So, last night I picked up a couple of hitchhikers and one girl was pretty f**ked up," she began. "I mean I remember taking out a pair of my own socks and putting them on her and stopping at a f**king fast food place to get them dinner."

Paris added that she didn't intend to make the Instagram videos to brag about being a Good Samaritan, but to share details about the shocking robbery. She also complained that she was treated like an Uber driver, after giving them a ride across Los Angeles.

"I gave you guys a f**king ride across L.A. and I do my very, very best to be the best Uber driver ever, even though I'm not a part of Uber and you steal my s**t, dude? What the f**k," she concluded.

One of Paris' latest images on Instagram is that of an unidentified roadside, which could be where she picked up the hitchhikers. She also shared a strange video of herself on Twitter on Friday talking about how much she loves sticks.

It's unclear if Paris reported the alleged robbery to authorities.

Aziz Ansari on the defensive

Aziz Ansari is defending himself following a woman's claims the actor was sexually inappropriate with her.

The Brooklyn photographer, who has chosen to remain anonymous, gave her account to Babe.net this weekend in which she alleged she met Ansari at an Emmys after-party in 2017 and the two eventually went on a date, which she referred to as "the worst night of my life".

The woman alleges she and Ansari became physical at his apartment and though she expressed that she was uncomfortable, the star continued to pressure her into sexual acts.

"He sat back and pointed to his penis and motioned for me to go down on him," she stated. "And I did. I think I just felt really pressured. It was literally the most unexpected thing I thought would happen at that moment because I told him I was uncomfortable."

On Sunday, the Master of None funnyman responded to the claims in a statement to Us Weekly, calling what occurred between them "consensual".

"In September of last year, I met a woman at a party," he said. "We exchanged numbers. We texted back and forth and eventually went on a date. We went out to dinner, and afterwards we ended up engaging in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual."

Ansari also noted he later learned the woman took issue with how the events of the evening unfolded.

"The next day, I got a text from her saying that although "it may have seemed OK,' upon further reflection, she felt uncomfortable," he continued. "It was true that everything did seem OK to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned. I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said."

The 34-year-old also shared his support for the Time's Up movement against sexual misconduct.

"I continue to support the movement that is happening in our culture," he said. "It is necessary and long overdue."

Cranberries singer dies

Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer of Irish band The Cranberries, died suddenly on Monday. She was 46.

O'Riordan died in London, where she was recording, publicist Lindsey Holmes said. The cause of death wasn't immediately available.

Holmes said the singer's family is "devastated" by the news.

Formed in Limerick, Ireland, The Cranberries became international stars in the 1990s with hits including "Zombie" and "Linger" that fused the alternative rock edge with poppy tunefulness.

The band split up in 2003 but reunited several years later. The Cranberries released the acoustic album "Something Else" in 2017 and had been due to tour Europe and North America. The tour was cut short because O'Riordan was suffering from back problems.

In 2014, O'Riordan was accused of assaulting three police officers and a flight attendant during a flight from New York to Ireland. She pleaded guilty and was fined 6,000 euros ($6,600).

Wahlberg donates fee

Mark Wahlberg has donated his $1.5 million reshoot fee from All The Money In The World to Time's Up, the legal fund for sexual assault victims.

The Transformers: The Last Knight star has faced growing condemnation in recent days after news emerged that he received the huge fee for an additional 10-day shoot late last year, prompted by the recasting of Kevin Spacey's role in the film after actor Anthony Rapp accused the Oscar winner of sexual assault.

Director Ridley Scott quickly decided to recast The Sound of Music legend Christopher Plummer in the film's small but pivotal role of billionaire J. Paul Getty who was asked to pay a massive ransom when his teenage grandson John Paul Getty III was kidnapped in 1973.

But last week, USA Today reported that while Mark, who plays a former CIA operative hired to negotiate John Paul Getty III's release, earned $1.5 million for the extra days, Michelle Williams, who plays the boy's mother, earned less than $1000. Both actors are represented by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment (WME).

Ridley told USA Today in December that "everyone (the actors) did it for nothing... they all came in free", while explaining that new cast member Christopher Plummer "had to get paid. But Michelle, no. Me, no." Working for "nothing" is industry-speak meaning actors earn only the minimum fee mandated by the Screen Actors Guild.

The controversy exploded given Hollywood's current focus on sexual harassment scandals and gender pay disparity though neither Ridley nor Michelle has commented on it. Industry sources suggest it is possible that neither was aware of Mark's big pay day until the news was revealed last week.

On Saturday, Mark released a statement announcing the donation which reads: "Over the last few days my reshoot fee for All The Money in the World has become an important topic of conversation. I 100% support the fight for fair pay and I'm donating the $1.5 million to the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams' name."

Bosses at WME have also donated $500,000 to Time's Up and released their own statement.

"The current conversation is a reminder that those of us in a position of influence have a responsibility to challenge inequities, including the gender wage gap. In recognition of the pay discrepancy on All The Money In The World reshoots, WME William Morris is donating an additional $500,000 to the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams' name, following our $1 million pledge to the organization earlier this month. It's crucial that this conversation continues within our community and we are committed to being part of the solution."

Celine Dion apologizes

Celine Dion apologized to her fans after being forced to cancel another of her shows.

The 49-year-old took to Facebook on Saturday to announce she was canceling that night's show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on doctor's orders.

"I don't know what to say, other than I'm truly sorry for having to cancel tonight's show and the two shows from last week," Dion wrote in an emotional post.

"Cancelling a show is the hardest thing I have to do, especially when I know that so many people have traveled far to see me in Las Vegas. This decision is not made lightly. When I'm not well, I always try to push through and I do everything I can to do my show," she added.

Dion canceled a performance last Saturday, and another one on Tuesday, and visibly struggled during her show on Friday.

"I really struggled to finish last night's show and it took everything out of me. My doctor advised that I absolutely cannot perform tonight. I know that I'm disappointing you, the people who support me the most and it hurts me beyond words. I hope that you can forgive me," she concluded.

A statement from Caesars Palace last Saturday revealed that Dion was struggling with "inflammation of the throat", adding: "Her doctor has instructed her to take one more day of rest in order to fully recover."

It's been a tumultuous week for the singer, who was left stunned when a female fan she had invited on stage during her gig last Friday night tried to drunkenly hump her.

Footage of the incident showed the woman embracing her and wrapping her leg around the My Heart Will Go On star. The fan then grabbed the microphone and growled "don't touch me" at Celine's bodyguard, at which point the singer, who stayed calm throughout the incident, managed to escort the woman off the stage along with her security team.

Lohan designs an island

Lindsay Lohan is planning to design a luxury island in Dubai.

The Mean Girls actress is currently living in the United Arab Emirates and has an interest in a number of business ventures.

"I have a lot of little projects there because I like to keep busy," she told TV host Wendy Williams in an interview on Friday. "So, when I'm finished filming (British sitcom) Sick Note I can go back to Dubai... (and) design this island - Lohan Island... I'm discussing designing my own island in Dubai at the World Islands."

The actress, who also co-owns nightclubs in Athens and Mykonos in Greece, has been living in Dubai since last year, after relocating to the city following the tumultuous end of her relationship with fiance Egor Tarabasov.

The actress previously insisted the change of address has helped her de-stress after spells spent living in New York, Los Angeles and London, under the constant gaze of the cities' paparazzi.

"I love living in New York, but I do love the serenity and peace that I find living in the Middle East because there are no cameras in Dubai and I can actually focus on what I want to do in life," she told Entertainment Tonight in December. "I don't always have to be scrutinized every second. I can have a private life and have a public life, but when I choose to. And I think that's really important."

"There's a calmness, there's a stillness that I didn't have in the past," she told Extra. "Life is moving good, it's fast but in a good, calmer way."

She has also helped bring her family together after revealing she spent the holidays with her warring parents, Michael and Dina. Both were in the audience for Lindsay's appearance on The Wendy Williams Show.

Minnie Mouse Walk of Fame

Katy Perry will help honor iconic Disney character Minnie Mouse with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later in January.

The Firework singer will serve as a guest speaker alongside Disney chief executive Bob Iger at the star unveiling ceremony for the fictional character, which is to be held at the Hollywood Boulevard on 22 January.

Minnie Mouse will receive the 2,627th star on the Walk of Fame to celebrate 90 years since she was first introduced in Disney's Steamboat Willie cartoon. Her male counterpart, Mickey Mouse, was awarded a star in 1978, for his 50th anniversary.

"After 90 years of serving (looks) & smiles as the polka dot queen, it's time she got that recognition!" Katy tweeted, with an applause emoji. "It will be a childhood and grown adult dream come true for me that day!"

Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, added in a statement, "Minnie Mouse is a woman of the ages and her iconic status makes her a great addition to our Walk of Fame! Generations of fans of all ages have been looking forward to her seeing her bright new star."

Besides Mickey, Disney characters such as Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, Donald Duck, Tinker Bell and Kermit the Frog have also received star honors over the years.

The star will be placed outside the front of the El Capitan Theatre, which is operated by The Walt Disney Company and serves as the venue for their film premieres.

Katy is currently a judge on the revival of American Idol, which airs on ABC, a Disney subsidiary. She will attend the ceremony on a day off from her Witness tour, which finishes in North America at the start of February.

More kids for Fergie?

Mother-of-one Fergie insists she will "never say never" to having more children.

The 42-year-old singer shares four-year-old son Axl with estranged husband Josh Duhamel. And despite no longer being married or in a relationship, Fergie hasn't ruled out the prospect of further extending her family in the future.

Asked in an interview with Fox News if she wants more children, Fergie replied: "You never know. Never say never. It's definitely a new year and the circumstances are new so right now I am not thinking about that because I have so much on my plate, and I am just trying to be the best mum for my little (son)."

The Black Eyed Peas frontwoman has a lot on her schedule right now, promoting her recently released album Double Dutchess and presenting new U.S. TV talent show The Four: Battle For Stardom. But regardless of how much work she has on, Axl will always be her top priority.

"Now I'm in mom mode," she smiled. "It's mom then it's work."

Fergie's admission about potentially wanting more children comes after she revealed shortly after she and Josh split last year that they had been talking about having a second baby before they decided to call time on their marriage.

"It was a conversation about, "OK, do we start our next baby or start a new album?'" Fergie told The Sun. "I knew I didn't want to do them at the same time. It's too much, you know?

"A child is something you have to focus on and make sure everything's padded around them - not put all the other pressures on top of having a second child and doing an album, that's just ludicrous to me."

But in the end, it was Josh who encouraged Fergie to put her career first rather than trying to get pregnant again.

"Josh was actually the one who said, 'You know what, you should go back into the studio and make some music'," she said.
