A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Surrey's Newton area. 

The victim, a male in his 80s, was hit just after 2:30 p.m. on 120th Street.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.

It's not known if the pedestrian was crossing in a crosswalk or not. 

Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision, and were still at the scene as of 5:30 p.m.
