Porno pop-up hits teacher

A B.C. teacher has learned the hard way to not use his work computer to view porn.

According to a recently released consent resolution released by the B.C. Teacher Regulation branch, Jeffrey Rohin Muthanna was hit with a pornographic internet “pop-up” advertisement while his laptop was connected to a projector in front of his grade 6/7 class on June 2, 2016.

He had been using the computer to view pornography in off-work hours for the previous two years.

The following September, Muthanna was issued a 13 day suspension and letter of discipline. On Nov. 3, 2017, he formally agreed to the suspension and agreed to the reprimand from the teachers regulation branch.

The B.C. Teacher Regulation report does not disclose the school district Muthanna is employed at.
