Movie night for OSNS

A Penticton brewery is hosting events Tuesday and Wednesday to raise money for the OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre.

The OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre is a pediatric and youth therapy centre, focusing on assessment, education and individualized rehabilitation treatment of development delays of children aged zero to 16.

"We always want to do local charity work," said Ian Dyck, an owner of Cannery Brewing.

The fundraiser will feature a complimentary, unlimited popcorn bar, with food and drinks available for purchase.

Cannery Brewing asks for a $10 donation per person, per night, which goes towards OSNS.

"We have been trying to do a movie night for quite a while, but in the summer we are just so smoking busy we can’t fit anything else in," Dyck said. "Now that it's a little bit slower we are trying to do some more stuff like this, to help support the community."

They will be playing a series of Christmas themed movies each night in the back of the brewery.

Tuesday, Dec. 12:

  • 6 p.m.: “Christmas Vacation
  • 8 p.m.: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (1966)
  • 8:30 p.m.: "A Charlie Brown Christmas"

Wednesday, Dec. 13:

  • 6 p.m.: “Scrooged” (1988)
  • 8 p.m.: “The Nightmare Before Christmas"

Movie night at Cannery Brewing is a first-come, first-serve basis, with about 40 available seats.
