There will be detours over the next two weeks to allow a retaining wall to be built on Salmon Arm Drive.

Enderby drivers are being advised of some major detours over the next two weeks.

Beginning today, the City of Enderby will be detouring traffic on Knight Avenue west of Sicamous Street as well as Salmon Arm Drive from Cliffview Drive to Knight Avenue.

The closure will be in place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for approximately 2 weeks, beginning Monday, Dec.11.

Access will be provided during the closure for local residents living inside the closed area, emergency vehicles, and service vehicles. All thru traffic should detour via Cliffview Drive. Access will be provided to the MV Beattie parking lot. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.

The city says the closure is to ensure there is a safe working environment for the contractor who is constructing the retaining wall along Salmon Arm Drive. It will also help to reduce wait times for those residents who are accessing their properties within the closed area.
