Disappearance now murder

Surrey RCMP now say they believe San Li Liao may have been murdered.

Liao was reported missing by her family back on May 29, 2017.

After an extensive search and investigation police believe Ms. Liao may be a victim of homicide.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken over the investigation.

“Police have conducted an extensive investigation to locate Ms. Liao but she remains missing and foul play is suspected in her disappearance.”  Cpl. Frank Jang of IHIT says, “There have been no other cases like Ms. Liao’s that have been reported to the police and investigators continue to pursue leads that may answer the many questions remaining.”

Ms. Liao was last seen leaving her workplace on May 26, 2017, in the 14900 block of 54A Avenue. Liao’s green 2000 Toyota Sienna was found in the area of the Guildford Recreation Centre on May 29, 2017.
