The Vernon Vipers have added some leadership to their roster.
The Snakes have acquired Sam Anzai, 19, from the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in exchange for future considerations.
The five-feet-11-inch, 190 lb forward was captain of the Thunder, with four goals and 13 points in 22 games this season.
He is expected to make his Viper debut Wednesday when the team travels to Washington State to take on the Wenatchee Wild.
The Vipers organization has congratulated Brett Stapley, Jack Judson and Ty Taylor for their invitation to the Team Canada West selection camp for the World Junior A Challenge.
A total of 60 players will assemble in Calgary Dec. 2-5 for four days of practice and games before the selections are made.
Team Canada West will open the Junior A tourney in Truro, Nova Scotia in a battle against the Czech Republic on Dec. 10.
