Storm pounds South Coast

B.C.'s South Coast is still reeling from pounding winds and rain on Sunday.

Nearly 90 millimetres of rain fell on parts of the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

The 24-hour downpour broke records, with Port Alberni drenched in 115 mm of rain.

Flooding was reported in Burnaby and Surrey.

Winds were clocked at more than 80 km/h, which cancelled several ferry sailings.

More rain is on the way, which will mean snow further north and at higher elevations.

Terrace saw more than 50 centimetres fall in 24 hours, and the Coquihalla Highway was closed between Hope and Merritt for six hours due to severe conditions and several accidents.
