Vernon

A living room market

Chantelle Deacon

A home in Vernon transformed into a Christmas market Sunday evening, while many locals shopped for handcrafted items.

The first annual BX Christmas Market took place Nov. 12, created by a young woman who felt it was a unique idea.

“It’s a Christmas market all homemade stuff made by family and some friends of ours,” said Elizabeth Molnar, organizer. “It’s in our house, which is unusual and different.”

“I thought we would try it for a year and see how it worked.”

About 10 vendors were at the market, which was decorated festively in the Christmas spirit.

“I’m just crocheting scarves and I make big-little matching sets for moms, dads and their little babies,” said Abbie Wilson, market vendor.

The three-hour event took place from 6 to 9 p.m.
