Movie night at brewery

A Penticton brewery is hosting events Tuesday and Wednesday to raise money for Monday Night Dinners at Nanaimo Square.

Monday Night Dinners at Nanaimo Square occur weekly, providing a hot meal for those in need.

"We always want to do local charity work and we have never done anything with this group before," said Ian Dyck, an owner of Cannery Brewing. "It’s a super worthy cause and I think the event will go well."

Cannery Brewing on Ellis St. will host two movie nights, with 100 per cent of the $10 cover charge going towards Monday Night Dinners at Nanaimo Square.

"We have been trying to do a movie night for quite a while, but in the summer we are just so smoking busy we can’t fit anything else in," Dyck said. "Now that it's a little bit slower we are trying to do some more stuff like this, to help support the community."

Each night there will be two back-to-back films, starting at 6 p.m. and finishing at 10 p.m.

The fundraiser will feature a complimentary, unlimited popcorn bar, with food and drinks available for purchase.
