Winds are expected to reach up to 40 kilometres per hour on Sunday.

Environment Canada says high winds are expected during the afternoon.

“Wind becoming southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 early this afternoon,” states Environment Canada.

The RCMP marine rescue team responded to multiple calls for sailboats having difficulty on the water, but it appears no one was injured.

Winds are expected to slow down by Sunday evening.

Strong gusts of wind caused havoc across the Okanagan earlier this week, leaving tens of thousand of people without power.
