City staff in Penticton are advising the public to be aware of major events going on at the South Okanagan Events Centre complex between Oct. 20-22, and to prepare travel plans ahead of time.
For those three days, a 12-team Atom hockey tournament will be taking place at ice rinks in the complex.
The Penticton Vees play at the SOEC on Oct. 20, and on Oct. 21 Foreigner will be playing at the venue.
Oktoberfest will be taking place at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Oct. 21, and Abbamania will be playing at the Cleland Theatre that night as well.
"This is one of those weekends where we're expecting the site will be very busy and we want people to be aware of the activity so they can allow more time to plan their travel options," Lori Mullin said, the city's recreation and culture manager.
