Metro Vancouver deluged

Metro Vancouver has been clobbered by a deluge of rain that has turned some city streets into urban lakes.

Flooding has been reported in several parts of the city, including Yaletown, Robson and Burrard streets, Broadway, and Vancouver Airport in Richmond.

What began as a typical Lower Mainland light rainfall in the morning, turned into a downpour, overwhelming storm drain systems.

Parts of Broadway were flooded, and the parking garage of Sutton Place Hotel near Burrard and Robson was filled with water.
