Vancouver police stopped a driver twice for distracted driving within eight minutes and just six blocks.
The driver was handed two hefty distracted driving tickets for using an electronic device while driving, totalling $736.
Police first spotted the driver at Granville Street and West Broadway on Wednesday, driving a Hyundai Accent, and issued a $368 fine.
The car was pulled over again and given another $368 ticket at Granville Street and 15th Avenue West, just 750 metres from the first infraction.
The VPD Traffic Unit posted images of the tickets on Twitter, saying: “cellphone $0… rental car $79… getting caught by VPD twice within eight minutes and six blocks = expensive, and dangerous.”
The event also ended up slamming the driver with eight demerit points.
