A man and woman from out of province were arrested after they stole someone's credit card and went on a shopping spree in West Kelowna.

RCMP were notified by a store employee who reported a suspicious couple Monday evening.

Police arrested a 30-year-old man in the store and the 23-year-old woman who fled to the parking lot after police arrived. The credit card was in another person's name.

“Both male and female spent the night in jail, and they will be appearing in court ... to face a variety of charges including identity theft, identity fraud, impersonation and obstruction,” said Cpl. Tania Carroll.

The couple are believed to have committed similar frauds in other locations.
