Local captain for Vipers

Vernon product Jagger Williamson is the new captain of the Vernon Vipers.

The forward has played for the Snakes for the last four years and is the first local captain of the team since Dave Robinson in 2010-11.

The Michigan Tech commit is a game shy of 150 in the BCHL and is coming off a career high 37 points.

“He wore an A last season and was a key contributor to the leadership of the team,” said Todd Miller, Vipers executive vice president.

Also in the 2017-18 leadership group is Jimmy Lambert who was also an assistant captain last year.

The Saskatoon native rang up 19 goals last season.

“Lambert's ability to make his teammates better is just one of the many attributes he brings to the table.”

Shane Kelly has been rewarded for his hard work and dedication last season.

From Michigan, the defenceman caught the attention of the U.S. Air Force where he will play next season.

Jesse Lansdell, 19, from Langley, joined the Vipers last October and gained “the reputation of a selfless player with a half dozen blocked shots” in two games.
