Invictus Games flag in town

The Invictus Games national flag is making a stop in Kelowna before moving on to Revelstoke and Lake Louise.

Flagbearers Heidi Steizner and Roxane Trenholm will arrive at Jaguar Land Rover Kelowna at 9 a.m. Tuesday to honour wounded warriors by carrying the Invictus Games Flag.

The flag is travelling from coast-to-coast, visiting 22 Canadian Armed Forces, 15 legions and over 50 communities from Aug. 16 to Sept. 22. Members of the B.C. Dragoons displayed the flag Monday evening at the Sails in downtown Kelowna.

Invictus Games would like to invite the public to all events to help celebrate the spirit of the Games, and support wounded warriors and their families.

The Invictus Games uses the power of adaptive sport to help wounded warriors on their journey to recovery.

It will feature 550 competitors from 17 nationals participating in 12 adaptive sports, including golf. The Invictus Games Toronto 2017 are funded by the Government of Canada, Province of Ontario, City of Toronto as well as presenting partner Jaguar Land Rover.
