Get artsy in Lake Country

Inspired by the Canada 150 celebrations, Colour Me Canada is the theme for the 24th edition of the Lake Country Art Walk Sept. 9-10.

The popular event will feature art, music and dance.

There will be more than 3,000 works on art on display with special exhibits dedicated to photography, fibre art, plein air painting and local youth.

Four stages will feature live musical and dance performances.

Back this year are the Paint Off Art Competitions where three artists must complete a painting on a specific subject within 15 minutes along with the Quick Draw hour-long drawing session.

Visitors can also vote for their favourite of the 300 artists expected to attend.

The Lake Country Art Gallery is also featuring the exhibit “Are We There Yet? Canadian Roadside Attractions.”

This juried show presents more htan 40 artist perspectives and interpretations on the same theme and runs from Sept.1- 30, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Art Walk takes place at the Lake Country Community Complex, 10241 Bottom Wood Lake Rd., as well as in many of the surrounding buildings and courtyards.
