Pedestrian hit, driver flees

Kelowna RCMP are seeking the public's help in identifying a driver and vehicle involved in a hit and run collision with a pedestrian on Aug. 12.

A 30-year-old Kelowna man suffered a broken leg and minor abrasions in the 2 a.m. incident, near the intersection of Gordon Drive and Lequime Road.

The driver didn't stop or offer any assistance, says RCMP Cpl. Tania Carroll. Thankfully, the man was able to call for help and was taken to hospital for surgery.

The pedestrian was struck from behind as he was walking south on Gordon Drive, possibly by an import type car.

Police say there may be front end damage to the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Const. Ryan Law at 250-762-3300 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
