A fire bug may be loose in Williams Lake.
This in an area still coming to grips with numerous wildfires burning around the community.
Police say a resident of an apartment building on 2nd Avenue heard a noise coming from the main floor and went to investigate. He smelled smoke and found a pile of papers that had been lit on fire.
Both the fire department and RCMP were called to the building. The fire was easily extinguished..
RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson said the situation could have ended quite differently, however.
