Full day of entertainment

The first ever Oliver Roots & Fruits Expo takes place Saturday and includes a full day of free entertainment. 

The parade will kickoff on Aug. 19 at 10:30 a.m. The event expects to bring in hundred of locals and tourists to celebrate Oliver’s Agriculture and Heritage. 

Festival-goers of all ages can expect all the elements of a great summer event including a parade down Main St., kids activities, lots of food, vendors, agriculture and heritage exhibits, pie eating and pie baking contests and hours of live entertainment on the community stage.

  • 10:30 a.m. | Parade begins on Main St. 
  • 11:00 a.m. | Activity stations, CONTESTS AND EXHIBITS OPEN
  • 11:30 a.m. | Nice Verdes – Rotary Main Stage. 
  • 12:30 p.m. | Official welcome / Youth ambassadors.
  • 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. | Oliver's Got Talent, talent show – Rotary Main Stage.
  • 1:00-2:00 and 2:00-3:00 | Intro to Lacrosse – Curling Club *equipment provided.
  • 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. | Loonie Swim – Oliver Pool.
  • 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. | Sack races and potato carry relay – south end of park.
  • 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. | Picos Puppet Place – Children’s Stage 1/3 Hall.
  • 3:30 p.m. | Pie eating contest – in front of main stage.
  • 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. | Storytelling – Children’s Stage 1/3 Hall.
  • 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. | Children's sing along  – Rotary Main Stage.
  • 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. | Mysterious Sonic Booms – Buy-Low Foods Main Stage
  • 7:30 p.m. | Activity stations and exhibits will close. 
  • 7:15 to 8:00 p.m. | REBEL LUV – Buy-Low Foods Main Stage.
  • 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. | The Chris Buck Band – Buy-Low Foods Main Stage. 
  • 10:00 p.m. to late | Official "after party" at Firehall Brewery. 

The headliner for the show is the Chris Buck Band out of Vancouver, who is the 2016 BCCMA Country Club Act of the Year that just recently reached the Billboard Country Chart Top 20 with their hit “That’s When You Know."

Festival attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating, two pieces of ID for the entrance gate to the fully licensed site and to leave their pets at home.
