One southbound lane has been opened on Highway 97 between Edwards and Sexsmith roads. The portion of the highway was first closed about midnight due to a gas leak.

Highway 97 closed overnight in Kelowna due to a gas leak.
DriveBC first reported the closure about midnight, between Edwards Road and Sexsmith Road.
The highway remains closed in the southbound lanes, and traffic is being detoured around the incident.
It's estimated to reopen by 8 a.m.
It's not known what caused the gas leak.
