Anyone thinking about using a boat to get a better view of the Canadian Force’s Snowbirds, Skyhawks and CF18 demo team on Wednesday is being asked to reconsider.

A boat-free zone is being established on the south end of Okanagan Lake from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Aug. 9. The Penticton Marina and Lakeside Hotel docks will also both be closed during the show, with no one being allowed in or out.

“The planes won’t fly if this area isn’t kept clear,” volunteer Elizabeth Marion said.

The closure will extend to the pump house on Highway 97.
