Pritchett set for Peach Fest

Country superstar Aaron Pritchett will be gracing the stage at this years Penticton Peach Festival, and according to Pritchett, he couldn't be more excited to be back.

Pritchett will perform with special guest Cory Marquardt on Friday Aug 11 at 9:30 p.m. in Okanagan Lake Park.

"I have been to Peachfest before, not only as a performer, but I’ve been there [Penticton] partying when I was younger," Pritchett said. "I have friends that live in Okanagan Falls and we shot a video in Kaleden and Penticton before, my ties are pretty tight up there. Coming up there is an easy choice to make, that's for sure."

Pritchett will perform his "popular party songs, everyone is familiar with," like Hold My Beer, Light It Up and Let's Get Rowdy, along with a new single.

"I've got some new stuff that I’m coming out with," he said. "Just a few days before [Penticton Peach Fest], I will have released a new single called VW Bus, and I do have a VW Bus, so it's legit."

"I've got a show, that I'd like to think, people will leave wanting more."

Pritchett has been nominated in two categories at this years Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA), and feels very "fortunate and lucky, to have this comeback."

"There has been points where I thought ‘well I guess I’m done, my career has sort of come to an end, I’m in the twilight of it,’ and then 'bang' all of the sudden I get these hit songs on the radio and these nominations. I got nominated for a Juno earlier this year as well and then off comes these CCMA nominations for Male Artist and Video of the Year for a song called When a Momma's Boy Meets a Daddy's Girl."

The Penticton Peach Fest is the only performance Pritchett has scheduled in the Okanagan over the summer. The only other performance in the area is scheduled for Kamloops.

"I'm hoping to get up there [the Okanagan] again, in the fall or winter to do a Christmas performance of some kind.

Penticton Peach Festival is Aug. 9 to 13, and is free for all ages.
