Salmon Arm

Out of the house, at the fest

Some of the most infamous house guests from last season’s Big Brother Canada will be outside rather than inside this August at the 2017 Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival .

“We all have our guilty television pleasures,” said David Gonella, the festival's executive director. “I’d be lying if I said Big Brother Canada was not on the PVRs of some of our staff and volunteers."

Karen Singbeil, a mom of three from Victoria, made it all the way until the final vote in the house last year.

Known for her ability to adapt, keep people laughing and beating the odds, Singbeil is a lover of the Shuswap and was thrilled to confirm her attendance.

“I love knowing that Karen is already familiar with the area and can an advocate for its beauty. We always love when mom packs up the family and ventures to our neck of the woods – we can’t wait to see Karen and her crew.”

Karen will not be the only house guest at the festival this year so attendees should keep their eyes open when arriving at the festival on Aug. 17.

“Maybe Roots and Blues will have a 'show-mance' or two of its own this year,” said Gonella.

The Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival celebrates its 25th year Aug. 17-20.
