The Penticton Vees defeated the Merritt Centennials 6-2 in game seven of the interior division semi-finals on Monday night at the SOEC.
It was a commanding performance for the Vees, who failed to close the series out in the previous two games, allowing the Cents to battle back from a 3-1 series deficit.
Team captain Nicholas Jones led the way with a pair of goals and an assist, while goaltender Matthew Robson stopped 17 shots in a relatively quiet night behind the posts.
With the win, the Penticton Vees improved their all-time game seven record to 13-9.
The Vees move on to battle the Vernon Vipers in the Interior Division finals, starting Friday night at the SOEC.
