Cyclist honoured with ride

In light of the cyclist recently killed after riding into an opening car door in a tragic accident, concerned Kelowna cyclists are holding a "critical mass ride" on Friday.

The ride is in memory and honour of the fallen cyclist Patricia Keenan. It will also support the need for safer cycling infrastructure, laws that protect cyclists from drivers and modifications to automobiles that prevent accidents such as this one from happening.

UBCO cyclists and the Kelowna Area Cycling Coalition will be represented.

The ride starts at 6 p.m. at The Sails.

Participants will cycle downtown streets, including Bernard Avenue, where the cyclist was struck, stopping at City Hall, then ending at the RCMP detachment on Doyle Avenue.
