A special weather statement is in effect for highways with high mountain passes in Southern B.C.
Environment Canada is calling for heavy snow today and tonight, as a strong weather front over Washington State is moving north.
They expect between 10-20 centimetres of snow to fall on the Allison Pass, Coquihalla Summit and the Okanagan Connector, and up to 30 centimetres of snow to fall on the Kootenay Pass by Monday morning.
There shouldn’t be any snow at the lower elevations, but those areas could see rain instead.
In Kelowna they’re calling for 60 per cent chance of showers today with the snow level at 1,200 metres.
