Tyler James Nowek, co-owner of Ultimate Hockey & Skate in West Kelowna, is facing charges related to child pornography.

A West Kelowna business owner is facing charges connected to child pornography.

Tyler James Nowek, 29, is the co-owner of Ultimate Hockey & Skate on the Westside.

According to BC Provincial Court services, he has been charged with luring a child under 16 via the computer, and making or publishing child pornography.

Marc Cormier, co-owner at Ultimate Hockey says, "it has nothing to do with Ultimate Hockey & Skate and our business will go forward."

Nowek appeared before a judge on April 2, and is scheduled to make his next appearance on May 26 in Kelowna.

A high ranking person within the West Kelowna Minor Hockey Association said they were shocked upon first learning of the charges, but pointed out that everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

Nowek is not in custody at this time.
