Naked cyclist 'exercising freedom'

Update 11 a.m. Feb 14: The unidentified man caught riding his bike wearing only a winter hat and shoes has been fined for his transgressions.

Kelowna RCMP have issued the man two violation tickets worth a total of $194.

The butt naked rider was ticketed for not wearing a helmet ($27) and failure to stop at a stop sign ($167).

Police have yet to decide whether criminal charges will be recommended to Crown Counsel.

Spring has sprung, the "ass" is riz, I wonder where his clothing is.

Several commuters on KLO Road got quite an 'eye full' Thursday morning when they came across a man, wearing nothing but a pair of shoes and a hat, riding his bicycle into town.

RCMP Cst. Kris Clark, says police received several complaints from people who spotted the man cycling on KLO Road westbound from Spiers Road.

Clark says police were able to track the man down.

"He says he was 'exercising his freedoms,'" says Clark.

"There was some discussion about indecency."

Clark says there are discussions internally about what can and cannot be done.

"The member just needs to confirm case law before they take action. We have identified him so we can always deal with him later," says Clark.
