Local teacher named coach of the year

If you play field hockey in the Okanagan, you have heard of Ben Fecht. Coach Fecht has been instrumental in the development of girls junior and senior field hockey since 1998.

For the past 30 years Ben has coached middle and high school teams, indoor field hockey, club teams, drop-in league and been the head coach of the BC interior regional development teams. Under Ben’s tireless commitment and leadership, the Okanagan has grown to a thriving place for girls to learn to play field hockey serving all levels of ability from all over the Interior and Kootenay valley.

If you ask his players, they describe their coach as the “best they have ever had”.

Tonight Coach Ben is recognized in Vancouver by BC Field Hockey as the 2018 Coach of the Year.
