Kelowna Winery Celebrating 25 Years

KELOWNA, BC: House of Rose Winery is celebrating 25 years in 2018 and to celebrate are hosting a huge party, this Sunday July 29th from 1 to 4 pm. Live music with The Niki Martinus Project, free caricatures from Monte Barwick, balloon designs by Jeff the Balloon Guy, an art table, cake and more. Bring the family and come out for an afternoon of celebration!

The winery, one of the first 20 in BC, was long known for the founder, Vern Rose. A great character, he was loved by customers for his wit and passion for wine. “It’s hard to believe that 25 years have passed since my father started this winery,” says Aura Rose, co-owner and winemaker. “At that time the wine business was a tiny part of tourism and the economy of this community. We’ve seen huge changes!”
What has not changed is the down to earth, friendly approach. “We’ve planned a fun and family orientated celebration,” adds Wouter van der Hall, co-owner of House of Rose. “Music, caricatures, kids activities and a special cake. We want to celebrate this milestone with our community.”

House of Rose Winery (www.houseofrose.ca), now owned by Aura Rose and her husband Wouter van der Hall, has been in the Rose family since its inception. Founded by Aura’s father, Vern Rose, who purchased the property in 1983 and opened the winery in 1993. The winery is known nowadays for its smooth, fruit forward wines with funky names like Hot Flash™, Grapes with Benefits™ Rose-EH™.
