Great prizes and fun at Easter Seals Splash of Colour Run!

KELOWNA, BC - April 2, 2014 – Event participants will have the chance to win some great prizes in the upcoming Kelowna and Vernon Easter Seals Splash of Colour Fun Run presented by Century21 on Easter Saturday, April 19th. The inaugural Splash of Colour Fun Runs in the Okanagan are raising funds for local kids with disabilities to attend Easter Seals Camp Winfield.
Prize categories include: • Most Funds raised by a Team • Most Funds raised by an Individual • Overall Winner • Most Outrageous Costume by a Team • Most Outrageous Costume by an Individual • Most Creative Team Name and • Most Colourful (Team or Individual). In addition, each participant who raises a minimum of $100 will be entered into a draw to win two return air tickets from Kelowna to Whitehorse courtesy of Air North.
Other prizes generously donated include: passes to WildPlay Kelowna, Bikram Yoga Kelowna, Centre of Gravity and Atlantis Waterslides, pizza from Domino's and Boston Pizza (Kelowna), dinner at Kelly O'Brian's, golf lessons from Urban Links Golf Training, accommodation at Veranda Beach Resort and Sparkling Hills Resort and Starting Block Running and Fitness Gear!
The Easter Seals Splash of Colour Fun Runs are made possible by the support of various individuals, businesses and community organizations. In addition to cash and prize donations, fundraising and volunteering by individuals, the following organizations are making valuable contributions: Century 21 in Kelowna and Vernon, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Avalon, Interior Savings, Safeway, SunRype, NHP- New Horizon Productions, Kelowna Lioness Club and the Lions Clubs of Okanagan Mission and Vernon.
Media outlets sponsoring the events include Global Okanagan, Kelowna Capital News, Vernon Morning Star, Sun FM 99.9 and Sun FM 105.9, Castanet and Shaw- go! Okanagan. Great support has also been received from many others.
Easter Seals has helped individuals with disabilities and their families for more than 80 years. Every kind of contribution is valuable and appreciated so sign-up now at www.splashofcolour.ca for the 2014 Easter Seals Splash of Colour Family Fun Run in Kelowna and Vernon! The run is also happening in Victoria.
Entries are $35 and include sunglasses and a white t-shirt. Participants can also fundraise a minimum of $50 to have the entry fee waived. Kids six and under are free but must bring their own white t-shirt and sunglasses. The Okanagan Mission Lions Club and Vernon Lions Club are putting on a pancake breakfast by donation in Kelowna and Vernon respectively, at 8:00am. The run, which will be less than 5 kilometres, starts at 10:00am at City Park North in Kelowna and Kin Beach in Vernon.
