Local Woman Entrepreneur to Pitch New Dragons
Mar 19, 2014
Just in case you missed the latest Dragons’ Den news, Kevin O’Leary and Bruce Croxon have left the Den. CBC reported that restaurant magnate Vikram Vij and financial wizard Michael Wekerle will be their replacements for the taping of the new season, which starts this September.
The shake-up on Dragons’ Den also came as a surprise to local entrepreneur Louise Anne Maurice who auditioned to be on the show at OUC in Kelowna on February 19, 2014. She received word a week later that she was chosen among thousands of hopeful entrepreneurs who auditioned across Canada. “It was one of those surreal moments†said Maurice who is the founder of WomanlyWealth.com.
She heads to Toronto at the end of March 2014 to pitch the Dragons in a live taping of the show.
“I can be included in the 1.2 million Canadians that watch Dragons’ Den. I find it educational and inspirational. I had no idea that Kevin O’Leary and Bruce Croxon were no longer a part of the show. I found out when the rest of Canada found out†says Maurice.
While there is no guarantee that her taped segment will be included in the new season of Dragons’ Den, it is a great opportunity for a woman entrepreneur to come face-to-face with Canada’s business elite. “I am looking forward to the experience but I won’t be able to share any results when I return.†However, she will keep Castanet posted if and when her segment airs on CBC.
