Interior Savings Sunrise Rotary RibFest is Back for its Second Year

Kelowna, BC – Following its inaugural year, title sponsor Interior Savings Credit Union and host the Kelowna Sunrise Rotary Club are pleased to announce that the Interior Savings Sunrise Rotary RibFest will return to Kelowna’s City Park for its second year September 15th-17th.
This family friendly event brings award winning ribbers from across the country to serve up their best ribs. Visitors will enjoy live music and entertainment, a variety of vendors and a Kids Zone. A beer garden will available throughout the event’s operating hours as well. After last year’s success, organizers have not only extended the hours of operation this year, but a 5th ribber has also been added. Activities kick off on Friday September 15th at 3pm until 11pm, continue on Saturday from noon until 11pm and then again Sunday noon until 9pm. Organizers are expecting upwards of 20,000 guests to visit RibFest this year.
“Our goal for this event is to create a family festival and a substantial fundraiser for our club. We also see this as an opportunity to promote fellowship within the club and attract new members,†says Kelowna Sunrise Rotary Club President Pat McAllister.
Interior Savings has once again come on board as the title sponsor for this event.
“As a credit union, we’re always excited to work side-by-side with others to create local good,†said Interior Savings CEO Kathy Conway. “What makes RibFest so special are the amount of people and organizations working together to create an event this city can be proud of while also raising tens of thousands of dollars to help improve lives.â€
Proceeds from last year’s event supported numerous local charities including $10,000 to locally-founded ShoeBank Canada. In 2017, Conway says they hope to raise another $35,000 through the Ribfest event to support Rotary’s work.
