QuestUpon Transforms Kelowna BC into a Living Museum
Kelowna, BC – QuestUpon has partnered with Kelowna Museums in creating a variety of experiences that brings culture and heritage to life. The “Quest” is an interactive geo-locative heritage adventure called “Pigs on Bernard” that will have you experiencing Kelowna by traveling back in time, answering trivia, geocaching, seeing pigs run the streets in 3D augmented reality, and more!

“This heritage adventure began when we learned of the game called “Greasy Pig”, from the early days of the Kelowna Regatta, where a pig would be greased up and dropped off the side of a boat and swimmers would try to catch it. Over the years a few pigs made it to land and escaped. We wanted to bring that pig to life, and we did”, says Tammy Meyers, COO and Co-Founder of QuestUpon. “Similar to the movie, Night at the Museum, things come alive and educate people on stuff they don’t normally see in their everyday life – we are essentially providing edutainment that appeals to a broad age group.”

QuestUpon’s platform allows for a variety of quest types including urban races, guided tours, treasure hunts, and games. For the quest in Kelowna, we created a guided tour through downtown Kelowna, bringing the past to life in an incredibly compelling and exciting experience.

Miles Marziani, CEO and Founder of QuestUpon adds, “Kelowna Museums saw the unique opportunity to tell a story of the culture and history that Kelowna has. Their team did a great job in providing key points of interest for a walking tour that we gamified with QuestUpon.”

The Pigs on Bernard historical quest is available on QuestUpon at the App Store for iPhones, and will be available for Androids in the next week. Follow us on Twitter @QuestUpon or visit www.QuestUpon.com for upcoming announcements.
