Big White Receives Prestigious Canadian Ski Patrol Award
Kelowna, BC – Big White Ski Resort's new President Peter Plimmer is pleased to accept the national award for Outstanding Contribution to the CSP from Colin Saravanamutto, CEO of the Canadian Ski Patrol. This award is given to an individual or organization to recognize an extraordinary contribution to the Canadian Ski Patrol System. “It is very rare that a resort receives this award,” said Saravanamutto. “Big White is being credited for their joint marketing efforts with the Canadian Ski Patrol, especially the naming of the Ogopogo Zone as the Zone of the Year by the Canadian Ski Patrol,” Saravanamutto continued. The Canadian Ski Patrol is a registered non-profit corporation comprising highly-trained volunteer and professional members. Since the 1940s, this organization has continued to fill a critical need for first responders on the ski slopes. Today, the CSP delivers a cross-section of national programs which provide vital skills, certified education and training in outdoor emergency care. In the Okanagan Valley they have trained over 800 ski patrol members in various first aid protocols.
