Join us Thursday, October 9 for the 17th Annual United Way Drive-Thru Breakfast at the Ramada Hotel, presented by City of Kelowna Councillor Maxine DeHart.

Starting at 6am the Ramada Hotel at 2170 Harvey Avenue will once again transform into a drive-thru experience like no other! Over 1200 breakfast bags, sponsored by Valley First Credit Union, will be delivered by volunteers to drive-thru guests, in exchange for donations in support of the local United Way.

The United Way’s mission is to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action.

United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on vulnerable children, adults, and seniors. These are the building blocks for a good life – quality support for children leads to confident adults; help for vulnerable adults and families makes your community stable; and healthy seniors are happy, more independent and enjoy a better quality of life.

Their goal is to create long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place.

“United Way CSO is very excited to be partnering with Lake City Casino in Kelowna,” says Shelley Gilmore, Executive Director of the United Way Central & South Okanagan/Similkameen, “it takes leadership, dedication and partnerships to enact change in a community and Lake City is proving that they are taking their role as a community leader seriously. United Way uses its strength to leverage the funds entrusted to us to care for those that need it the most and we couldn’t do that without the commitment and generosity of organizations like that of Lake City Casino.”

Lake City Casino will be donating a total of $6,286.72 to the campaign at the Breakfast. Lake City Casino Staff will be on hand to help hand out breakfast, provide prizes and coupons, and assist the United Way in launching their 2014 campaign.
