Final Preparations underway for the 115th Interior Provincial Exhibition.

The Interior Provincial Exhibition is ready for a great 115th fair. Things are shaping up as we have only hours to go to before the start of the best agricultural fair in BC. Tents are going up, Animals are arriving, Entertainment and Vendors are setting up, and with 1,949 exhibitors with over 7,000 entries this year, the enormous variety at the IPE has something for everyone in your family. With an emphasis on our 4-H Division, we invited everyone to “Celebrate 100 years of 4-H in BC” and experience all the Interior Provincial Exhibition has to offer.

The favorites are back – West Coast Midway with over 30 rides. All the animals from horse, beef, dairy, sheep, swine, goats, poultry, rabbits, llamas, alpacas, dog agility plus the new Rabbit Agility on Saturday and Sunday and the Farrier (horseshoeing) demonstrations daily.

All our Home Arts Division (Field & Seed, Vegetables, Floral, Fruit, Sewing, Photography, Canning and Baking, Hobbies, Honey and the expanded BEE HIVE are all located in Nor-Val Arena.

We have lots of new and exciting fun for the whole family. From the addition of Farm Quest and the always new and exciting Valley First Kids Klub which has moved to an all new expanded area that you do not want to miss. From amazing entertainment, Freddy Fusion, Tim the Puppet Tamer, Kids Tractor Pulls, Agri-Magic and the new Lego Adventure. Plus Rainbow the Clown to name a few and the ever exciting Zucchini Derby, Watermelon Eating and Corn Eating contest. Sign your kids up in Kids Klub for the Lost Kids Program. This gives parents a little comfortable if they get misplaced from their kids so we can assist in finding them faster. Don’t miss out on the chance to win Katy Perry Tickets in Vancouver on September 10th.

You will want to check out of the best Rodeos in North American, the Wrangler Tour Rodeo is on the first 4 days with the Wrangler Tour Shootout on the Sunday where the best of the best from the Wrangler Tour come back for additional chance to make it to the CFR in Edmonton. Amazing deals on Wed and Thurs rodeo – don’t miss this exhilarating sport action.

The opening is scheduled for 4:30pm at the Main Gates with the official opening ceremonies with the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, the Honorable Judith Guichon. “We are so honoured to have the Lieutenant Governor to open the 115th fair as we celebrate 100 year of 4-H in BC”, Jeanne Noble Harter, President of the IPE commented.

We do have a Wheelchair and Stroller Rental service. There is a nominal fee and part proceeds goes to the Armstrong Loan Cupboard. Limited availability and first come.

On Friday and Saturday night we have the Barn Dance featuring Appaloosa (Tickets $15). We have a free shuttle back to Vernon on those nights. Thank you to A-1 Bus Company.

Don’t forget about the free draw at the Front Gate featuring prizes from Beachcomber Home Leisure, Cowboys Choice and the IPE.

With the fair just around the corner we have continued our traditional of educating guests on the abundance of agriculture in our community. Come down and check out the Goat Milking, Mooturnity as well as all the showcasing of animals and the wild and exciting Mini Chuckwagon Racing. The Iron Chef is back with some exciting action as the top chefs cook up a storm. Don’t miss of the best parades in the valley. Over 100 entries will line the streets in the traditional Saturday 10am spectacle.

There are over 200 vendors in the indoor tradeshows and outside in the commercial areas. With all your favorite fair foods, come and experience all the great choices.

We also have over 30 non-profit, charity organizations involved in some capacity at this annual event. Come and support their efforts.
