Mint green

My long-time readers will know that I love a whole variety of colours in my wardrobe; if that's you, then you will know that I was absolutely thrilled to see how much colour is on trend for the current fashion season.  To me, summer signifies bright and rich shades of every colour, whether on the beach and or in your vacation suitcase.  No matter what the style, age, or taste of the wearer, bright and vibrant colour will always bring out that fun and youthful side.

Neons and brights like hot pink, neon orange, and lime green are super-in right now (we'll go more into this next week), but one hot hue has taken over them all as THE shade to score this summer: mint green.  This pastel shade is popping up everywhere, and those that are fashion forward are snapping it up in skinny jeans, moto jackets, earrings, shoes, and watches.

The colour is flattering to wear for most with its soft, pale tone, and translates well season to season by pairing it with cooling colours in the summer and warmer colours in the fall. And since the colour is on the pale side, it can be incorporated into your wardrobe almost as a neutral.  My favourite way to wear the minty shade is wearing it head to toe as a statement, but it can also be paired with rich shades like eggplant, bright colours like orange and hot pink, monochromatic black and white or patterns like florals and chevron.

So pick up a little or a lot of the mint or sea foam shade, and start incorporating it into your daily look for style that is right on the mark. And maybe a mint chocolate chip ice-cream to match, anyone?!
