Scarves are a wardrobe must-have, especially when winter is just around the corner. They are a fantastic way to add pattern, color, or texture to any outfit. If you’ve been nervous about trying trends like mixing patterns, color blocking, or faux fur, a scarf is a really great way to ease into it!
Now, there are dozens of different types of scarves and dozens of ways to wear them, so I’m focusing today on a few types of ideas that you may have not tried yet!
The Infinity Scarf: This continuous scarf was hot, hot, hot last year. I love mine in a thick knit for extra warmth this winter. It can be looped around your neck once, a few times or none depending on how long you want it. They are also perfect for the unexpected snowfall; if you don’t have a hood on your sweater or jacket, simply pull the scarf over your head in the back and you’re covered in no time!
The square scarf: I positively adore a silk square scarf, but I do find them to be the most challenging type to style. I find the most easy and stylish way to wear them is like a necklace; simply fold the square into a triangle, place this part in the front and tie the ends together in the back.
Double up your scarves: If you’re bored with your regular arsenal of scarves, why not try pairing two of them together? Twist the scarves together to make them look like one!
Fur Stole: The stole may not technically be a scarf, but I included it here since it does wrap around your neck! And besides, good fashion is all about breaking the rules, and faux fur is everywhere right now, so we absolutely should include it here. The fur stole can make your jackets look new again by wearing the stole over any of your outerwear.
