Claude and family, we are saddened by the passing of Ella, she was a wonderful lady that had an interesting, exciting life and love to share her stories with us. I will never forget the day I meet you all at the Vibrant Winery and me giving your family cookies and juice while you listened to the music on a beautiful day. Then spending every Wednesday with you your Mom and my Mom at happy hours sharing your Hawkins Chezzies. Great memories for me to have.
Now her and Mom are talking about good times in Eastern Star.

What a beautiful woman. We were so very fortunate to get to meet Ella. She was such a wonderful person to talk to. I really enjoyed visiting Kelowna to see Claude and was always happy that he shared his time with his mother and our family. I know this is a great loss for many but also know she has touched many hearts along the way. Our condolences to you and your family Claude. You are in our thoughts as you grieve the loss of your mother and friend. What a lovely lady she was.
Very happy to have met Ella and are sorry for your loss.

We extend our condolences to Claude, Paul and family for the loss of a most lively spirit and mother, Ella. Ella was a motivator in inspiring me to practice yoga so I could also be fit and bend in half in my senior years. She was very helpful in my first years in Kelowna with babysitting our daughter, recognizing a mother in need. I will always have a warm memory of Ella. May she rest in peace.

So sorry for the loss of your mother. Those who have lost their own mother know this loss also. She was a great aunt and we were so glad to have that visit with her last spring. We always cherished our little visits and knew she had a special connection with our own Mom.
Cherish those memories, cousin Barbara Holovach

Ella was a Great Aunt of mine, but I only really got to know her over the last decade. She had a dependably engaged and focussed demeanour. She parlayed a sense of presence; a way of being in-the-moment which I really admired, underscored with a solid sense of humour! I will miss her stories of my Grandfather Ernie but I am grateful for what she had offered.
I wish peace to the family at this time, and am sympathetic to your loss.
Also much love and good karma to Claude who went the distance to set visitor attendance records at Cottonwoods over the last few years. I was able to witness one such visit, and see how his dedication was appreciated amongst staff and patients alike.
    Ella will be missed!!

She always had a laugh and a smile in her eyes. Aunt Ella will continue to be an inspiration due to her life long yoga practice which kept her in sound shape, physically and mentally. I'm so glad to have gotten to spend quite a bit of time with her when I was a University of British Columbia student and staying in the North Vancouver condo on occasion, in addition to being out in the sailboat quite regularly in English Bay. Ella always insisted that I sleep with the window very open (....making for some cool evenings!.... but, she was watching out for my health!) I know that Mom (Dorothy) loved her very much and all her very musical offspring. Wish we could have all been able to spend more time together! So....here's to keeping up the yoga and trying to match her long life in order to get in some visits with you cousins in B.C.!

Dear Claude, my sadness is with you and your family. Ella was such a wonderful lady and I miss her smile already. She never gave up smiling at us even though she had carried such pain so long. Your everyday visit made her really happy and I'm sure she won't forget those moments she had with you. Sorry for your loss again. Your second favorite nurse.
