WILLOX, Thelma Eileen (nee Mabbott)
November 11, 1945 to January 1, 2012.
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer at the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna, BC.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 44 years Jim, her daughter Stephanie (Todd Kobus) of Vancouver and son Craig of Toronto, Ontario, her “second” daughter Marielle Brule of Penticton and her two precious grandchildren Zachary and Harrison.
Her mother Marie Mabbott of Creston, brother Dale Mabbott (Gloria) of Devon Alberta, brother Mervin Mabbott (Ruth) of Burlington, Ontario, her sister Lila Kobi of St. George Ontario and sister June Walker (Marvin) of Creston BC.
Missing her greatly will be her sister-in-law and dear friend Dorothy DeVries (John) of Kelowna, brother-in-law Bob Willox (Carol) of Kelowna and brother-in-law Gordie Willox (Shirley) of Calgary Alberta. Numerous nieces and nephews are left to mourn her passing. She was predeceased by her father Herb Mabbott and her brother-in-law Don Kobi.
At Thelma’s request there will be no service but a celebration of her life with family and special friends in the spring. Everden Rust Funeral Home will handle her cremation and her ashes will be spread in the Okanagan Valley as this was where she enjoyed the best part of her life.
The family wishes to thank her amazing doctors including Dr. Allison Pasenau and the wonderful support team at the Central Okanagan Hospice House In Kelowna.
