WIEBE, Henry J.

Henry J. Wiebe passed away peacefully to be with his Saviour on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 79 years.
Henry is survived by Ann, his loving wife of 55 years, children Bonnie Ley (Michael) of Oyama, Valerie Hanet (Wayne) of Williams Lake, Wendy Sutherland (Vance) of St Vincent & the Grenadines, David (Sharon) of Mission, 12 grandchildren Emma, Naomi, Meghan, Grant (Abi), Elyse, Sarah, Joelle, Riley, David, Rahul, Thea, and Macey, two older brothers John (Val) Wiebe of Vernon and Frank (Kathy) Wiebe of Abbotsford, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Henry was predeceased by his parents Johann & Anna Wiebe.
Henry was born on Sept 18, 1937 in the Ukraine, immigrated to Canada in 1949, and raised in Kelowna, BC. Henry married the love of his life, Ann, in 1962. Henry worked as a Stationary Engineer and raised his young family in Port Edward, BC. In 1979, he and his family settled in Lake Country (Winfield), BC starting the hobby farm he always dreamed of, growing strawberries and raising cattle. Henry developed Parkinson's Disease at the age of 41 but continued being active in his church, travelling, camping, and working hard. Henry deeply loved his wife and family, was always generous, and maintained a good sense of humor and positive attitude.

Ann and her family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Three Links Manor for the wonderful care extended to Henry during the last 10 years of his life and struggle with Parkinson's Disease. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Parkinson Society of BC at www.parkinson.bc.ca.

A service, in memory of Henry's life, will be held on Monday, September 25th at 1:00 at First Mennonite Church, 1305 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC. Officiated by Rev. Lorin Bergen.
