WEIERS, Frieda

Frieda peacefully went to her eternal home on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the age of 93. She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Smood (Larry) of Port Alberni, BC, Elaine Kennedy of Scottsdale, AZ, Daphne Harris (Sean) of Parksville, BC and Beverley McGurk (Ted) of Vancouver, BC; sons Gordon (Lora) of Edmonton, AB and John of Kelowna, BC; grandchildren Manuela, Richard, Melinda, Tanya, Yvonne, Jeremy, Nicholas, Suzanne, Shannon, Austin and Carly, thirteen great grandchildren and her sister Kay Michel. She is predeceased by her loving husband Leonard, her eldest son Allan, two brothers John and Robert, second husband Joseph Lischka and son-in-law Craig McCuaig.
Frieda was born to John and Emma Bogner in St. Gregor, SK. She was proud to be a twin to her brother John. It was in St. Gregor that she met her husband Leonard; they married Oct 15, 1946 and moved to Muenster, SK where they raised seven children.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother and an active board member of the Catholic Women

No matter whether visiting Auntie Frieda in Kelowna or seeing her in St. Gregor at the family reunions, she was such a kind and caring person.

Remembering Frieda, a most gracious and lovely woman. Had the privilege of attending her and Joe's wedding. The CWL at St. Theresa's catered a reception for them. Visiting Frieda was a joy. She truly made you feel welcomed.
